Speaking of Dusty Death

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

… there are lots of new papers associating various sorts of dusts with cancer, pneumonia and cardiovascular disease. We’ve previously discussed the correlation between endotoxins and a reduced risk of lung cancer but how to square those studies with ones like "Occupational Exposure to Organic Dust Increases Lung Cancer Risk in the General Population" (which identifies exposure to dust from "microbial, plant or animal" sources)?

On the inorganic dust front there’s "Increased Mortality From Infectious Pneumonia After Occupational Exposure to Inorganic Dust, Metal Fumes and Chemicals". It’s a study of 320,143 workers in the construction industry that finds a fairly large increase in risk of death from pneumonia among those exposed to a mixture of inorganic dusts yet the opposite outcome for those exposed just to one sort of dust.

Finally, on the pm2.5 front there’s "The Effect of Particle Size on Cardiovascular Disorders – The Smaller the Worse", focusing on, obviously, size rather than substance; "The Effects of Particulate Matter Sources on Daily Mortality: A Case-Crossover Study of Barcelona, Spain" finding again that the observed correlation is a matter of size over substance when it comes to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease; and, evidence that the observed association is not, perhaps, the result of confounding whereby people more prone to cardiovascular disease (for which socioeconomic status is a big risk factor) are more likely to live near sources of pm2.5 can be found in "Particulate Air Pollution and Socioeconomic Position in Rural and Urban Areas of the Northeastern United States".

IRS Top 10 Tax Tips for Sellers

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

In early August, the IRS published 10 helpful tax hints for home sellers. If you are selling, or have recently sold, make sure you reap all of the tax benefits you can! May be a pleasant surprise for those who experience a gain in income from the sale and have lived in their home for a while.  The ten tips are below can be viewed on the IRS website: http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/content/0,,id=104608,00.html

1. In general, you are eligible to exclude the gain from income if you have owned and used your home as your main home for two years out of the five years prior to the date of its sale.

2. If you have a gain from the sale of your main home, you may be able to exclude up to 0,000 of the gain from your income (0,000 on a joint return in most cases).

3. You are not eligible for the exclusion if you excluded the gain from the sale of another home during the two-year period prior to the sale of your home.

4. If you can exclude all of the gain, you do not need to report the sale on your tax return.

5. If you have a gain that cannot be excluded, it is taxable. You must report it on Form 1040, Schedule D, Capital Gains and Losses.

6. You cannot deduct a loss from the sale of your main home.

7. Worksheets are included in Publication 523, Selling Your Home, to help you figure the adjusted basis of the home you sold, the gain (or loss) on the sale, and the gain that you can exclude.

8. If you have more than one home, you can exclude a gain only from the sale of your main home. You must pay tax on the gain from selling any other home. If you have two homes and live in both of them, your main home is ordinarily the one you live in most of the time.

9. If you received the first-time homebuyer credit and within 36 months of the date of purchase, the property is no longer used as your principal residence, you are required to repay the credit. Repayment of the full credit is due with the income tax return for the year the home ceased to be your principal residence, using Form 5405, First-Time Homebuyer Credit and Repayment of the Credit. The full amount of the credit is reflected as additional tax on that year’s tax return.

10. When you move, be sure to update your address with the IRS and the U.S. Postal Service to ensure you receive refunds or correspondence from the IRS. Use Form 8822, Change of Address, to notify the IRS of your address change.

Herbalife Scam – The requirement to Know Truth About Herbalife

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

Herbalife truly is really a company gone international with distributors in 65 countries. Don’t let this figure fool you into not investigating the truths surrounding the Herbalife scam.

The Herbalife scam is real and below can be a quick introduction to the reason why you might choose to avoid this business.

A) All Scams Have their own Beginnings

Founded in 1980 by Mark Hughes (who died in the young age of 44, was a devoted consumer of his own products and whose dead body is discovered with substantial amounts of alcohol and sleeping pills), Herbalife is now over Twenty five years old and boasts 1.5 million distributors in 65 countries.

Well, that statistic is proof that the company’s promises of unlimited earning potential and top notch nutritional and supplemental products certainly grabs the eye of potential prospects. But what happens to many of these prospects once they become distributors?

B) Sucking You Dry

It would not be directly to disregard the positive features of the company while touting a Herbalife scam, here are a few good stuff:

Low startup costs – around $108 for your standard opportunity pack, $78 roughly for that mini-pack
Minimal risks
No experience necessary (this attribute sells lots of people on Herbalife)

Wrong, there is a big problem.

Based on Herbalife corporate, the common distributor’s 2006 earnings each month was $5,100, and from a few things i often hear recently that figure is anticipated to drop for 2007. I feel that this is a decent average to report, however, let us take phone following:

Near to only 1% of Herbalife distributors have the effect of earning over 85% of the company’s wealth – meaning near 99% with the company is fighting for your remaining 15% of sales that make up the billion dollar Herbalife empire
These are not the percentages you would like to see when contemplating a multi-level marketing company. Additionally:

Herbalife products, typically, can be purchased at 30% a lot more than the same product with all the exact same ingredients, only with a different name, for the most part nutritional stores
Exactly what does this mean? It indicates supply and demand go out the window and so does your invested money. Nobody will pay the lopsided prices the organization dictates unless they’re not aware of the countless competitive, cheaper products out there. Consequently, you may not be creating many sales.

C) The Larger Picture

Although me and many more out there believe the Herbalife scam is real, I am going to admit how the pay plan is fairly rewarding. It’s rewarding for many who along with the people they sign up are available massive volumes of product to help make up for your small profit on each individual product.

For anyone not considering the Herbalife scam, look for a business that rewards you for your sales immediately, and never have to pass by any in your sponsor.

Lightning Quick Financial Success

The Herbalife scam is real, avoid it just like the plague. Irrespective of which products or programs you decide to promote, the number one step to phenomenal financial success online is mastering effective marketing strategies. A mentor can guide you to do that, so often be on the lookout for one.

Knowing how to market effectively and rely on the merchandise you’re marketing, you’ll absolutely succeed!

Now, the above pricing is little. However, when you become an unbiased distributor you will be bombarded from your sponsor to buy 1000s of dollars price of products inside your first couple of months beneath the basic premise that you will be in profit within only a couple of weeks because of the enormous interest in the company products, no issue.

Good results in any Multi level markeing involves working with aflourishing marketing strategy.
