The Best of ColumbusBestBlog.com 2011
Wednesday, January 4th, 2012
According to WordPress.com (this is a WordPress.org site but in 2011 I started using a WordPress.com plugin so they sent me an email about 2011 on ColumbusBestBlog.com) was the most popular post on this site:
Columbus Trick or Treat – 2011
It is not really a big surprise. I could tell from traffic (looking at Google Analytics) that Columbus likes Halloween. I knew from other years that central Ohio needs to know when “Beggars Night” or “trick or treat” is in each local community. When does Worthington trick or treat? When is “Beggar’s Night in Hilliard?” Lewis Center, Powell, Westerville, etc.
The Best of ColumbusBestBlog.com (the top 5 posts on ColumbusBestBlog.com) in 2011 according to WordPress.com:
1. Columbus Trick or Treat – 2011 posted September 2011
2. Top 10 Most Dangerous Cities in America – 2011 posted June 2011
3. Beggars’ Night in Columbus Ohio posted October 2010
4. 365 Things to Do in Columbus Ohio this weekend posted June 2010
5. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – a Columbus neighborhood posted August 2011
The traffic on #3 (Halloween post for 2010) was how I knew to write the 2011 post about central Ohio trick or treat times. Here’s a hint about number 2, Columbus did NOT make that list. The number one place that sent traffic to this site in 2011 was Facebook. I would guess the page about “365 Things to do in Columbus Ohio” and let me stress the Ohio in that…
I don’t believe I added the WordPress.com plugin until mid year so I am not sure this is the entire 2011 year or not. Not sure how the WordPress.com plugin is measuring traffic.
