Helpful Facts Regarding United States Passport
Thursday, January 26th, 2012If you are planning to travel out of the country, a United States pass port is a necessity. The business of your trip does not matter. You could be planning an exotic getaway, studying for a semester in another country, or traveling internationally for business. Whatever the case, you will need this to enter any other country. It Is smart to plan and apply for your passport ahead of time.
Benefits
The benefits to having this document are vast. Without one, there are many places in the world that you will not be able to travel to. This is particularly true in the world today. In the past, without passports you could enter countries such as Canada. Presently, however, this is not possible. Any type of international travel requires that you carry this with you.
Easy To Obtain
Fortunately, it isn’t very hard to obtain passports. Most likely, you will have the ability to put you application in locally. Things get a little tricky if your date of travel is coming up sooner. If you’re planning your international travel for less than two weeks from now, you’ll need to schedule an appointment at one of the regional passport agencies. Even if you’re outside the country you can obtain one–you’ll just need to contact the embassy or consulate.
Valuable Document
Sure, you may think that it isn’t necessary to have one valid at all times. In truth, it is recommended that anyone who has family living abroad or traveling abroad, is thinking about an international vacation, or has a job that might necessitate international travel maintain their passports and ensure that theirs is always valid. Already have a document that is valid in hand will save great amounts of money and time in case of something unexpected, like a business trip or family emergency… Or even an awesome airline deal.
Foreign Country Requirements
Beyond this, some countries require a document valid for at least another six months past the dates of travel plans. It is therefore recommended that you go about renewing yours approximately nine months prior to the expiration date. By doing this, you can avoid any unexpected problems by already being prepared.
Valid Period
Your document will be valid for ten years in the event that it was issued when you were over 16. If it was issued when you were 15 years old or younger, it will be valid for five years. As a result, you won’t need to renew yours often if you make sure to keep it on track.
Emergency Situations
There are still possible solutions if you do have an emergency and don’t have a child pass port that’s valid. You can appear at a passport agency for emergency service in person in the event of a life and death emergency involving serious injury or illness or death to a member of your immediate family in a country that for travel requires a passport. You might still have to provide documentation regarding the emergency.

Hidden Posts?
It says “Hidden Posts” but I had not looked in months. I can’t say I had never looked because I remember seeing spam someplace on ’365 Things to do in Columbus Ohio’ but I did not think it was in the Hidden Posts right below the word “Wall” right below the ’365 Things to do in Columbus Ohio’ image. I learned to look there yesterday. It is a spam filter for pages but “things” get stuffed in there that are not spam. Just a few “things.”
There were a few real things there, mostly Christmas and Hanukkah events… but even some earlier events. I published them. My apologies to those who posted them.
